A week of sea and sun (and water slides)

It has been a scorching hot week in Hoi An with lots of opportunities for seaside fun.  I'll let the pictures do the talking since they're worth a thousand words anyway.

No week in Hoi An is complete without a good dose of flea-bitten puppy.
Random dogs around town...

Our own flea bitten baby, Patches, belly up in his (we think) fish pond home.  He's much cuter than the last six residents that went belly-up in this same location (and then sat and rotted for too long).

John's favorite birthday present - a Barbie movie.

An afternoon of riding the waves in celebration of #48...

Ha, Mr. Vang and Hue at Restaurant 328 (our home away from home).

Vietnamese girls try out Brianna's roller blades without
much success but lots of laughs.

I enjoyed a two day retreat to Hue courtesy of my ESL school in Danang.  The only goal was R&R and staff bonding.  The first stop on the agenda was "hot springs" just outside of Hue.

My relaxing retreat to the "hot springs"  -

We visited temples and tombs around the city, but the best picture I got all weekend was this dragonfly.  You can Google the tombs if you want.

Then we finished off the week with a fantastic morning at the Golden Sands Resort in Hoi An.  This is where we should have booked a room for the year.  It was paradise!  We were there so the kids could take a "learn to SCUBA" class.  Foster and Nolan jumped in with gusto.  Brianna was more reluctant and decided to pass.  Now we find ourselves looking for the next opportunity.  Everyone (including Brianna) is ready for an ocean dive!
