Ho Chi Mama: Adventures of a VietMOM

In Vietnamese the word "ma" has six different meanings depending on the tone you use. It can mean phantom, but, rice seedling, mother, tomb or horse. Does that mean "Mama" has thirty-six different possibilities? One day I could be a "phantom rice seedling" and then a "horse tomb" the next. With three kids and a husband in tow, this mama is headed for a hot and steamy Asian adventure on the South China Sea. Mastering Vietnamese is bound to be just one of our many challenges.

You know it's time to head home when...

You're in the heart of Vietnam, and you find yourself eating a chicken taco, drinking a chocolate shake and listening to a Vietnamese guy and his guitar belt out U2's entire "Joshua Tree" album...

...and not only do you like it, but you find yourself singing along. The time has come.
