Coconut Transfer

Another goodbye is behind us.  Yesterday we sent Coconut off to live with her new family.  We were all a little sad to say goodbye to our mischevious canine companion who has provided us with so much entertainment and companionship this year.

The beautiful ending to this story is that in two weeks Coconut will be right back at home in the rice paddy.  Through a series of timely connections and opportunities, a wonderful couple I met through my English teaching job in Danang, Alison and Eric, ended up taking not just Coconut.  They will be moving into our house, enjoying our famous red couch and bringing Coconut home to roost with them.  On top of all that, Alison will be teaching the Dingo Deli kids next year too!  An amazing string of events has made everyone very happy and has guaranteed that we will maintain some strong connections to Hoi An even after we leave.  We're already planning our first Skype call with Coconut.  Is that weird?  Whatever.

Goodbye Kisses

Goodbye Cuddles

Alison and Eric take canine custody.

  1. The couch would have been lost without all of those fleas and ticks

  2. Oh,, Jennifer, I sure hope that the sibling ribbing was something you missed the most. I think Chris missed you more than he'll admit...and you've missed him, Kelly, and Atilla as well. Hurry home. Anxious to hear more of the sibling battering back and forth/back and forth!!! Be safe...be happy and hurry back.

  3. I've got nothin'...no comebacks here. I believe the ticks in this country are genetically engineered. I'd be hard pressed to think of something more disgusting than the enormous, blood-filled beasts we have extracted from Coconut's ears in the past few months. I cringe just thinking about the "pop and spatter" routine Brianna became so skilled at. The ticks make head lice seem like an absolute dream. Yum.
