Who's Your Daddy?

Who's your daddy little guy/girl?  That's the question of the day. While we await the DNA results, we'll play the neighborhood guessing game.  Coconut is white...all white.  Her baby is mostly black with a few white patches. I wonder if that means I can rule out the nasty little orange mutt I found in my kitchen one day. Coconut likely has carnal knowledge of every blackish colored mutt this side of Cua Dai Road, so pinning down paternity could be tricky.

Miraculously, as the vet predicted, Coconut popped out one puppy right on schedule - a week after his visit.  Thankfully the drama took place in the rice paddy, and there was no drama.  Coconut wandered into the paddy, pushed out a puppy, gnawed off the umbilical cord and cleaned it up a bit.  John noticed her in the rice paddy, took a walk and found a puppy.  Easy.  Not too messy.  We were all spared the gory details.  Everyone is happy and healthy, and the baby has 20 digits.  The name game begins...

  1. Seven to a dozen puppies is usually normal for dogs. Only one?
