Missing the VCM

Go Happy Trails Runners!

It's marathon day in Burlington, and I'm in Vietnam.  Marathon day is one of my favorite days of the year.  I'm missing the energy and the vibe of the Queen City on race day.  I am listening to live streaming of race play-by-play on WVMT as I type.  Outside my house Vietnamese funeral music is echoing off the river.  It's surreal.  As a runner, I always thought the idea of "live" radio coverage of a marathon was a little odd - almost like listening to bowling on the radio.  This year I am eternally grateful for this small connection to Vermont.  Run fast and run happy Vermont friends!  Thinking of you today...
