Ho Chi Mama: Adventures of a VietMOM

In Vietnamese the word "ma" has six different meanings depending on the tone you use. It can mean phantom, but, rice seedling, mother, tomb or horse. Does that mean "Mama" has thirty-six different possibilities? One day I could be a "phantom rice seedling" and then a "horse tomb" the next. With three kids and a husband in tow, this mama is headed for a hot and steamy Asian adventure on the South China Sea. Mastering Vietnamese is bound to be just one of our many challenges.

Entering the Era of the Teenie-Bopper

Now, that's a happy birthday smile! We officially have a teenie-bopper on our hands. Foster celebrated big #13 at the beach with school friends, at dinner with family, and again at the movies in Danang with the big boys.

I'm not sure where that little guy flexing his muscles in his Spiderman outfit has gone, but I have to admit I kind of like this teen version of Spider Man. Hopefully the next seven years will be good to him, and he'll be a real life super hero when he enters the next decade.
