Bangkok Day #3

It was back to a "kids" day for our third day in Bangkok, and they took full advantage of their itinerary-planning power: relaxing morning at the hotel, lunch at Burger King at the mall and ice skating.  Yes...ice skating.  I swore off all things cold and winter related this year, so ice skating was not on my "to do" list.  However, if I have to spend time in a skating rink, Bangkok is where I want to do it.

The strip of ice was on the first floor in the middle of a gigantic shopping mall.  I was surrounded by shops and restuarants.  Pop music played at a reasonable volume.  The ice was rather wet - a gigantic puddle, in fact.  The skates were rather blue - like the ski boots we never saw this winter.  And, the whole experience cost a small fortune, but the smiles on Brianna and Nolan made it worth everty last baht.

Our transport was a water taxi.
That should count for some culture points, right?

Mall rink...oh yeah!

Barefoot with bootie skates - eeew.

Much more fun than the mini-walkers at home

Priceless smile

Skating or shopping?

  1. Is that James Dean leaning on a pole, sipping a Big Gulp, waiting for a water taxi?
