Giving birth to a dingo

It's officially open...Dingo Deli Vietnam! Our friends Michele and Gordon (from Australian Dingo Country) had a plan for Hoi An - a deli/bakery/cafe -and it has finally come to fruition with its share of Vietnamese potholes along the way.  The finished product was on display yesterday when they opened their doors for the first time, and we were thrilled to be a part of the celebration.

The three story building that houses their home (on the top floor) and our classroom (on the middle floor) now hosts the deli/cafe and convenience store on the first floor.  Having opened a business in Vermont, we are familiar with the blood, sweat and tears that go into birthing such a baby, and we feel qualified to say that natural dingo birth in Vietnam hurts more.  So we send a big congratulations to the North family on their new baby and wish them all of the best on this new adventure!  We'll be sucking down the lattes and relaxing in the corner while we watch them navigate the unknown waters ahead.  Cheers!

Gordon does the math - happy to be finally taking
some money instead of spending it.
